Tarik abdullah's cuisine is inspired by the tastes and flavors of his childhood, growing up in a muslim family and broader community where ethnic foods were the norm. his culinary creations honor traditions from North Africa and the Mediterranean.

Chera Amlag debuted her ube (purple yam) cheesecake at a pop up dinner in October 2013 to much praise and demand. One year and one month later, Hood Famous Bakeshop launched, granting fans access to Chera's creamy purple cake all year round, plus a host of other hand-crafted filipino modern and traditional desserts.
We spent a day at the Hood Famous kitchen in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle to grab a firsthand glimpse of Chera and team baking up favorites like homemade guava marshmallows and ube cookies. learn more about hood famous bakeshop here.
Heartwood Provisions is a restaurant nestled right in the heart of Downtown Seattle. The experience is designed to showcase a true collaboration between kitchen and bar, offering beverage pairings for each dish served. Amanda Reed lent her passion for flavor experimentation not only to the menu development at Heartwood, but also to the design of the bar itself.
We introduced Amanda to our chocolate, and she whipped us up a few creative cocktails inspired by jcoco flavors, playing off of the sweet and savory medley in bars like Edamame Sea Salt in milk chocolate. Learn more about Amanda and Heartwood Provisions here.
